It was not the first book I had spent time trying to write.<\/p>\n\t\n\n\t\n\t<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Much of the time went into distilling ideas into a precise, functional form, rather than waiting for the ideas themselves to arrive.<\/p>\n\t\n\n\t\n\t<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This book is special to me. I want to share some of what went into it: excerpts, thoughts, notes, and screen grabs of the scraps.<\/p>\n\t\n\n\t\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019m hoping this page will also help me work out a better way to write the next book. I have a style of writing I prefer. Keeping track of it all has been another matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019ve jumped between editors, lost notebook pages, and had pieces of the manuscript spread across three different computers. Some of it was on my phone. A real noob way to write a book.
